Humphrey, Farrington & McClain’s trial results were once again honored by Missouri Lawyers Weekly, who named them to the “Top Verdicts and Settlements” list for 2021. HFM was the only firm with top verdicts for both Plaintiffs and Defendants. While HFM is first and foremost a plaintiff’s litigation firm, its attorneys represent clients in a number of different capacities, including occasionally on the defense side.
HFM shareholders Ken McClain, Jonathan Soper, Chelsea McClain-Pierce, and J’nan Kimak earned the second-highest judgment in Missouri in 2021, for their work arbitrating hundreds of claims against DST Systems, Inc., alleging a mismanagement of the employee retirement plan. To date, the team has secured judgments totaling $35.72 million.
HFM shareholders Ken McClain, Colin McClain, and Tim Kingsbury earned the second-highest defense win in Missouri in 2021, for their work defending the City of Grandview against an oil company that sought a $5.6 million judgment against the City for inverse condemnation. HFM attorneys successfully defended the City at trial and the jury returned a unanimous defense verdict.
