HFM Shareholder Colin McClain was recently named an “Up & Coming” lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. The award is given to attorneys who are either under the age of 40 or who have been practicing for less than 10 years. The award is given for “young attorneys’ professional accomplishment, skill and leadership beyond their years as well as extraordinary commitment to their communities through volunteer service and leadership.”

Colin received multiple six- and seven-figure settlements in the past year and tried several cases to verdict. He manages a docket of complex personal injury and property damage cases and is currently litigating cases in multiple states across the county.
Colin’s Up & Coming Award is just the most recent in a long line of recent honors and awards given by the legal news publication Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
HFM was the only firm with top verdicts for both Plaintiffs and Defendants in the “Top Verdicts and Settlements” list for 2021, with HFM shareholders Ken McClain, Jonathan Soper, Chelsea McClain-Pierce, and J’nan Kimak earning the second-highest judgment in Missouri in 2021, and HFM shareholders Ken McClain, Colin McClain, and Tim Kingsbury earning the second-highest defense win in Missouri in 2021.
Missouri Lawyers Weekly named Ken McClain a Legal Champion in 2021 for his work conducting arbitrations on behalf of hundreds of employees whose retirement plans were mismanaged by their employer. Just one year prior, HFM shareholders Danny Thomas and Michael Kilgore won that same award for their work against the federal government on behalf of veterans who were abused at a VA medical center in Kansas.
And in 2021, HFM shareholders Nichelle Oxley and Chelsea McClain-Pierce both received the Women’s Justice Award in the Litigation Practitioner category, an award honoring women litigators who have shown leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice, and accomplishment in exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession.
